The University of Central Florida (UCF) is a research university located in Orlando, Florida. Founded in 1963, it initially operated as the Florida Technological University, with the primary goal of training personnel for NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. In 1978, following the expansion of its academic programs, it was renamed to University of Central Florida.
