Long Island University Brooklyn (LIU Brooklyn) is a large university with extensive campuses. Founded in 1926, the university initially welcomed immigrants and children of immigrants as its first students. In its first year, LIU enrolled 312 students. In 1929, it merged with the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy, now known as Long Island University Pharmacy.
