The University of Cologne is a public university in Germany, located in Cologne and founded in 1919. Initially, the university was established in 1388, making it the sixth university in Central Europe. However, it ceased operations between 1798 and 1919, before being re-established in 1919. In 1988, the university celebrated its 600th anniversary.
