Ruhr University Bochum is a public university in Germany, located in the city of Bochum, Ruhr Region, and founded in 1962. It was the first public university in Germany established after World War II. The first academic year at the university began in 1965. Today, it is one of the largest universities in Germany and is also a member of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft research organization.

master’s degrees. Currently, approximately 43,000 students are enrolled in more than 150 study programs at the university. Around 10% of students are international.
