private and relatively young university located in
Bremen, Germany, founded in 2001. The university blends American and German educational systems, mainly due to its collaboration with Rice University (USA) during its establishment. Initially, it operated as the International University Bremen.
In 2006, the Jacobs Foundation made one of the largest private investments in a European university at the time. In appreciation, the university was renamed Jacobs University Bremen. Today, it is recognized as one of Germany's leading universities, holding prestigious accreditations from the Council of Natural and Humanities Sciences and the German Accreditation Council.
