Hochschule Schmalkalden, Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences – a
public university in
Germany, located in Schmalkalden and founded in 1991. However, the institution’s history dates back to 1902, when the Schmalkalden Technical College was established. This college was later transformed into what is now known as Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences. The university officially began its new chapter on October 1, 1991, marking a significant milestone in higher education for the institution.
Mechanical engineering became the university’s core program, with many additional programs introduced over time. Alongside academic expansion, the university also modernized its infrastructure to meet contemporary educational standards. Today, the Faculties of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science feature state-of-the-art buildings with a blend of historical influences and modern architectural styles.
