The
University of Portsmouth is a
public university located in Hampshire, on the southern coast of England.
Portsmouth was granted university status and its current name in 1992, but its origins date back to 1869, when the Portsmouth and Gosport School of Science and Art was founded.

The University of Portsmouth has two main campuses:
- University Quarter – The main campus, located in the city center, houses most of the university's facilities. Additionally, most student residences are situated nearby.
- Langstone Campus – A smaller campus, located in Milton, overlooking Langstone Harbour. This campus includes student village with three residences, most of the university's sports facilities, the School of Languages and Area Studies.
The Portsmouth Students' Union organizes a wide range of activities and opportunities for students, including over 150 student clubs and societies, participation in sports competitions, access to the university gym and fitness programs, learning a new musical instrument or language, engagement in volunteering and charity programs within the local community.
